Florence Fight Club, directed by Luigi Maria Perotti & Rovero Impiglia, produced by STAMEN Film has been selected in competition at the 2010 All Sports Los Angeles Film Festival. Screening will be on Saturday July the 10th at 5.30pm.
Florentine Football is no sports for the soft hearted. Played in Florence among 4 rival city neighbourhoods since the 16th century, it may resemble rugby but unlike it, the only rule is -surviving the game! Banned for a couple of years as being too violent, this year’s competition will be played with new rules by younger players who will enter the pitch for the very first time, while players over 40 – unwillingly - will have to step aside. The film follows four stories from each team while tension grows higher as the competition day approaches. Will Giovanni be able to play his first final? Will Pussi’s son prove to be as brave as his father? Will Gabrio win over his fears and score the decisive goal?
The feature length version, which will be screened in the festival, was produced in association with WDR and the one hour version has just been completed and is available for broadcast. GA&A Productions is distributing the film worldwide.
The film is available in HD.
