Sofia
counts
and
whi-
le she counts she changes.
She is 28 and her life is only now
exploding, with lightness and
terror. Sofia counts the days,
and while counting she pushes
a name away, a dull sound that
disturbs and leaves her grasping
for air, if pronounced out loud. E.
was born on 7 June 1990. Beau-
tiful, strong, healthy. E. vanished
definitively on November 14,
2018. In the middle, in that inde-
finite space modeled on fiction,
a young woman was forged.
Sofia flies to Thailand and at the
other side of the world she tells
us that everything has its begin-
ning and that this is her birth.
And that now she can
finally
stop
counting.

A modern fairy tale about the
evolution of costume-designing
in movie industry from the
point of view of Catello Russo, a
small supplier of used clothing
who dreams of becoming a
costume designer. Despite his
lack of education, he is skilled
in finding precious pieces of
clothing digging deep in enor-
mous loads of rags. Because of
his taste and innate sensitivity,
he has gained the trust of most
costume designers in the film
industry. Every day, his “rags”
leave his warehouse in Erco-
lano to arrive at the most pre-
stigious costume shops across
the world. In these amazing
ateliers, Piero Tosi, Gabriella
Pescucci, Colleen Atwood and
Claudia Cardinale, reveal anec-
dotes about the most beloved
movies of their careers. At the
same time, following Catello’s
desires, fears and actions, we
discover that even in a rag-
man, there could be the same
passion and talent that inspired
the great academy award win-
ners who have left their mark
on the greatest movies in mo-
tion pictures history.
