HALF-LIBYAN HEART. CHRONICLES OF A WAR CORRESPONDENT

In 2011, four days after Gaddafi's demise, young freelance journalist Nancy Porsia journeys to Libya. Unlike her western counterparts, she yearns to tell its tale from more than just an outsider's view. As she immerses herself in the work, she becomes enamoured with its vibrant culture, energy, and diverse populace. Amidst the nation's turbulence, she finds love with a Libyan, choosing to settle down and raise a family there. As the sole international voice for an extended period, she chronicles its tumultuous path to democracy, gaining recognition as a leading Libya expert. Her unflinching investigation on the Libyan Coast Guard's ties to migrant trafficking forces her into exile in 2017. While she knew her work could one day put her in danger, she didn’t know she was pregnant with her child. As the nation is torn apart by unrest, Nancy, now a mother, holds onto the hope of one day journeying back to Libya with her son, fully aware that the stakes involve more than just her own safety.
