Florence Fight Club

Florentine Football is no sports for the so hearted. Played in Florence among 4 rival city neighbourhoods since the 16th century, it may resemble rugby but unlike it, the only rule is - surviving the game! Banned for a couple of years as being too violent, this year’s competition will be played with new rules by younger players who will enter the pitch for the very first me, while players over 40 – unwillingly - will have to step aside. The film follows four stories from each team while tension grows higher as the competition day approaches. Will Giovanni be able to play his first final? Will Pussi’s son prove to be as brave as his father? Will Gabrio win over his fears and score the decisive goal? 80’ version produced in association with WDR.
