Much has been said about the
Catholic Church’s sex abuse
scandal. Yet with Pope Francis,
we have all thought that the
crisis was over, that the Church
had learnt its lesson. Instead,
4 years after Francis’ election,
reform has been stalled: 2 pe-
dophile priests out of 3 are still
in the clergy and bishops who
covered up abuses have been
left unpunished. In this film, hi-
storian John Dickie investigates
the causes of this dramatic
failure. Traveling from the U.S.
to France, from Italy to Argen-
tina, Dickie will discover new
scandals that prove how, for the
Holy Roman Church, the child
abuse crisis is far from over.
