One hour science special as aired
by NatGeo US, Discovery Cana-
da, Discovery LA, NHK and La7.
An astounding discovery which
took the scientific community
by surprise: a cave full of gigantic
crystals, in the state of Chihuahua
(Northern Mexico), of a size whi-
ch one would think unimagi-
nable. Yet, this magical place is
extremely dangerous. Tempera-
ture (50°) and humidity (100%)
are such that no human being
could survive in it for more than
8 minutes without protection. A
handful of trained scientists take
a journey to the centre of the
Earth to discover Naica’s secrets.
An international team of scienti-
sts and explorers join their exper-
tise and risk their lives to explore
the Naica Crystal Cave, where
the biggest and most stunning
crystals have been recently di-
scovered. They enter this fragile
yet lethal cave with special suits
developed to protect themselves
from the high temperature and
humidity of the cave, where the
human body wouldn’t survive for
more than minutes. A journey to
the centre of the Earth to unlock
the cave’s secrets and discover
what lies under our feet.
