BEAR WEEK DIARIES

The film explores the vibrant community of "bears, in Provincetown, Massachusetts, where middle-aged men gather for one week every July.
The film follows the events of Bear Week, where men from all over the world come together to meet, dance, and cruise in an atmosphere of body positivity. The documentary explores different sides of this community, amplifying every theme and emotion, and features interviews with the most important characters of Bear Week and its underground counterpart, Bear Mania.
Between each scene and every interview, the film has different layers, with flashy and overwhelming images of Bear Week, the calm of the sea and the dunes of Provincetown, the huge dance floors, and the cosy nights in private houses and moonlit decks. Provincetown is a small town that has become more expensive than Capri, attracting people in their forties and fifties who still love to live like they’re teenager. But can a 50-year-old body keep up with these extreme behaviours?
