ATHENS BLUES
DECODING
ISIS
Athens Blues takes us through the cultural heart
of the Greek metropolis. We will get to know
the politicians, the artists, the outcasts and the
migrants that, day though day, have been facing
social experiments, hard sacrifices and a political
revolution. Because what Greece has gone
through isn’t just an economic crisis, but rather
the entire cultural model of the Modern Western
World breaking up. Crisis, which comes from
Greek, literally means to stop, hold and think.
And that’s exactly what Greece has done: trying
to understand which path to take.
ISIS is more than a ferocious
and single minded killing
machine. It’s a huge
propaganda apparatus that
employs over 100 Western
technicians and relies on a
network of 40 broadcasters
and professional production
companies. Did ISIS invent
the ultimate recruitment tool?
Not at all. This programme
shows how ISIS has adopted
the narrative rules and formats
already invented by its bitter
enemy: the West.

VENEZUELA,
THE CURSE OF OIL
The future of Venezuela hangs by a thread. Twenty years after Chavez’ Bolivarian
Revolution, one of the richest countries in the Cono Sur is on the brink of civil war.
How did we get here? What has changed in the geopolitical context to undermine
Maduro’s hold on power? What is the situation on the ground for average Venezuelans
and to what extent will the people of Venezuela decide their country’s fate?
The film takes us to the streets of Caracas, to some of the most violent barrios in the
world, and along the border with Colombia, weaving stories of Venezuelans who were
forced to flee, Venezuelans who refuse or can’t afford to leave, with those of the main
international political, economic and military actor.
