THE POPE AND I
In the wake of the first papal
resignation in 600 years, Gianluigi
Nuzzi- the investigative reporter
who published the Vatileaks-
examines Benedict XVI’s 8
year papacy. Nuzzi uncovers a
controversial pontiff, with a vision
of the church at odds with the
world today, but courageous
enough to try and shed light on
the sexual abuses and the shady
business of the Pope’s bank. The
documentary is the story of an
isolated Pop in the Holy buildings,
amid struggles for power, sexual
and financial scandals. An 8 years
long Via Dolorosa.

HOLY MONEY
Priests charged with corruption,
donations diverted to pay for sex,
dioceses in bankruptcy, money-
laundering inquiries at the Vatican bank. Over the last few years alone, the foundations of the Holy
See have been rocked by one financial scandal after the other and, despite the appearances, Pope
Francis faces an uphill struggle in his attempt to clean house. In Holy Money, John Dickie, University
College of London Historian, takes us into the heart of the Catholic Church’s finances and examines
why, in the words of Matthew, “You cannot serve both God and Money”.

THE CROSS
AND THE GUN
BEHIND THE ALTAR
In the wakes of Pope Francis’s historical
excommunication of all Mafiosi, Historian and
Mafia Expert John Dickie investigates the unholy
ties that have bound the church to organized
crime. He will track down the priests who have
cozied up with mobsters and meet others who
are risking their lives for standing up against them.
Much has been said about the
Catholic Church’s sex abuse
scandals. We have heard the
pain of victims and seen dioceses
going bankrupt for compensating
the survivors. Yet with Pope
Francis, we have all thought
that the crisis was over, that the
church had learnt its lesson. What
we have found out instead, is
rather shocking: 2 pedophiles
out of 3 are still in the clergy, the
special tribunal he created does
not exist and bishops are still
instructed to not report abuses
to the authorities. In this film,
historian John Dickie investigates
the reasons of Pope’s inaction.
