NOTES ON
HAPPINESS
From the Japanese town of Nagoro, where
Ayano replaced the former inhabitants of the
city with dolls she created, to the Norwegian
tundra, where Luca designs houses entirely
made of ice, this series reveals the extraordinary
lives of ordinary people. A collection of heart-
warming, unique stories from around the world.
Telling what happiness is around the world
sometimes means to grasp it among the furthest
and hardest stories. Through seven of those,
involving women of our time in Afghanistan,
Mauritania, Pakistan, Cambodia, Tajikistan,
Malawi and Vanuatu, “Notes on Happiness” tells
how, despite violence, war, illness and poverty,
little big dreams come true. Because happiness
is a mystery and grows even where, at first sight,
there is no hope.
